weekend notes

baked apples for fall

I wish I could capture the light in downtown New York at nighttime.  There's just something that a photo just doesn't quite capture - the streets are cast in this amber glow that puts you back in time almost and everything seems so much more serene than during the day.  The best areas for strolling at this time are in the LES, Chinatown, and Soho - which is exactly what we did this weekend.  We had dinner at one of our favorite Chinese restaurants (details later this week) and made a stop at the infamous Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, where there were so many out-of-the-ordinary options that it was so hard to choose just one.
